Welcome to Östergötland

In south-east Sweden, less than 200 kilometres south of Stockholm, a pleasant surprise awaits you – the beautiful countryside of Östergötland. Our province is packed with opportunities for a wonderful and active holiday: stay in fantastic nature, enjoy the silence and collect unforgettable holiday memories to take home. Paddle a kayak in an unspoilt archipelago, hike along marked trails or cycle along winding roads with a map and picnic in the rucksack.

Welcome to nature!

Spring, summer, autumn and winter - regardless of the season, it is possible to do a variety of activities in the exciting nature in Östergötland. Hiking, kayaking, cycling, Shinrin Yoku (or Forest Bathing), swimming in lakes, mushroom picking, zipline and much more. You have a Right of Public Access whenever you visit Swedish nature – whether you’re going for a walk, kayaking, climbing a mountain or simply enjoying nature.

Signature Trail Omberg

The whole Östgötaleden trail is 1 400 kilometres long. It can best be described as several trails that are entirely or partially connected to each other. One of the branches stretches west towards Lake Vättern, from Boxholm to Omberg.
