Östgötaleden Hiking TrailHiking along the beautiful Östgötaleden Hiking Trail is a perfect way to experience all the nuances of Östergötland's nature. The experience varies depending on which part of the majestic 1200-kilometre trail you choose. Hike along a section in Valdemarsvik for an ultimate archipelago adventure, Ydre for the wilderness and Mjölby for the plains. Bike for exercise and for companyThe world’s biggest recreational bicycle ride Vätternrundan is arranged annually in Motala, Östergötland’s seaside town. If you are more interested in enjoying nature, one suggestion is to head east on your bike along Göta Canal or on some of the winding forest roads in the north or south. If you have a mountain bike, there are fun and challenging trails, including on Mount Omberg and by Lake Sörsjön. For suggestions on bicycle routes, see the digital map.
