Are you willing to take on the 11th-hole challenge?
It would probably be difficult to find a Swedish golfer who hasn’t heard of Åtvidaberg Golf Club’s 11th hole, famously known as Långa Sjö.
It is an 18-hole park course nestled in a beautiful oak landscape on the shores of Bysjön Lake.
Guided tours on wheels
The Blå Tåget tourist train tours our sights during the summer season.
Regular tours depart during the summer at 12 noon on Saturdays from the ÅSSA Museum.
Paddle from lake to lake
Paddle a canoe from Åtvidaberg all the way out to the Baltic Sea! If you don’t have a canoe of your own you can rent one at the Solkanonklubben (Sun Cannon Club) Canoe Club. Contact Åtvidaberg’s Tourist Office for more information on rentals.
Football has a proud history in Åtvidaberg
Åtvidaberg's Football Club accounts for the area's long, brilliant football history with great players and great matches.
Home matches are played at historic Kopparvallen. In 2007, the club celebrated its 100-year anniversary and Kopparvallen's history is just as long. The arena now has a spectator capacity of 8,000 persons. A record was set in 1968 when 11,200 persons attended a match against IFK Norrköping.
There is a huge interest in football in the municipality and young people who want a future in the game can apply to the municipal upper secondary football school.
Nature and walking trails
For experienced trekkers, we can recommend the Östgötaleden Trail. There is a wellness path called Hälsans Stig – a walking tour for the entire family that is accessible to prams, inlines and wheeled walkers.
Miniature golf and boules
Åtvidaberg Folkpark, the city park, celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2008. The park was recently renovated and has a dance pavilion, playground, miniature golf course and boules court.

There are about 240 lakes here so you can just pick a lake according to the type of fish you want to catch. Fishing licenses can be purchased at the Shell and Preem filling stations and Åtvidaberg Sportfiske shop on Järnvägsgatan Street.
Slot car racing
The local motor club has moved to new, larger facilities in the old dairy on Gamla Torget Square.
There are often many activities for beginners and competitive drivers alike. If you want to give it a try, contact a club member or stop by when they have open house nights.
Scenic hunting grounds
The hunting grounds surrounding Åtvidaberg vary from oak landscapes to rolling forest terrain. There are plenty of wild hoofed animals, particularly fallow deer, but the grounds are also suitable for bird hunting.
